Meditation Made Easy

Meditation is challenging because keeping a stream of uninterrupted focus on one thing in this over-stimulated pandemic-infused uncertain time seems impossible. If you count yourself out of the increasing trend towards meditation because your mind is like a stock market floor in the middle of a financial crash, consider Intention Meditation.

The beauty of Intention Meditation is you are using a tool to help you focus. Well, two tools actually; a strand of beads and an intention. For those of us still struggling with the very human tendencies of distraction, it’s nice to have a tangible object to focus on.

I teach Intention Meditation using a special beaded bracelet I call an Intention Bracelet. I designed the bracelets using a special numerical configuration, hand-engraved beads and gemstones.

Gemstones, like everything else in the universe, have elemental qualities like earth, water, fire, air and space which subtly helps us access those qualities in ourselves. For example, carnelian is a stone said to embody the fire element and so helps us tap into our own brilliance and passion.

The design of the bracelets makes them beautiful and very interesting but the most important thing about Intention Meditation is the repetition of a positive phrase or intention. This practice helps you override long held self-limiting beliefs that get hard-wired into our brains. You know the ones; “I’m not good enough”, “I could never do that”, “I”m not smart enough” etc. These self-limiting beliefs operate at the subconscious level and often sabotage our best-laid plans for moving ahead.

A relaxed state of mind and body is key to successfully rewiring our brains. That’s why Intention Bracelets come with a program that includes a few simple yoga stretches, some relaxed breathing and the actual meditation using the Intention Bracelet.

Each of the nine Intention Bracelets comes with a specific practice that aligns the gemstone, the postures, the breathing and the intention with the qualities of one or more elements to create an overall positive outcome. For example, the Carnelian Intention Practice helps you tap into your drive, courage and confidence. The unique design of the bracelets and the wisdom and efficiency of all of the practices that accompany the nine different Intention Bracelets is based on the ancient healing tradition of Ayurveda.

You can check out the Intention Bracelets and the practices that go with them here.
(When you purchase an Intention Bracelet there more online resources to support you in your practice, for example, a guide to writing your own powerful intentions.)

The benefits of meditation range from reducing stress levels to helping clear mind fog. Since you can do an Intention Meditation practice in under 10 minutes, it’s a very practical way to keep yourself on an even keel as you continue to navigate your way through these crazy, crazy times.

Be well and stay tuned for more blogs on self-care in the near future!
