Do You Feel It?

There is a stirring in the air. A pulse. Seemingly silent and still all winter, Potential is now making itself known. Spring is here.

If you’ve been feeling like you’ve got more on the go, your calendar is filling up, you’ve got events and obligations where there were none before and somehow your pulse is revved up a bit, you may just be tapping into the energy of spring.

Winter is behind us. New life is blossoming. Fresh green shoots and leaves, flowers, robin’s eggs and baby rabbits are everywhere. You can literally hear the buzz in the air (wait…maybe that’s the new batch of mosquitoes).

The contrast between winter and spring somehow seems more stark this year because we are also coming out of pandemic-enforced stillness. We’ve been holed up in our homes for much of the time, only coming out for essential things.

So if you are feeling a little hesitant to jump into spring and a vibrant busy life again, it’s totally understandable. I know I’m having some trouble adjusting.

We are just not used to it. It seems to be more challenging to tackle things that we didn’t even think about before, like navigating heavy traffic, figuring out what to wear in place of sweats or pyjamas, having more than one thing on our social calendar…

The trick, I think, is to feel the buzz, the vibration of spring. Let it give you inspiration, and use that energy to tap into your potential, but with measured intention.

Ease yourself into a faster, busier life. Make choices to do the things that you enjoy most. Find ways to tackle obligations with a new mindset that makes you more able to enjoy the process. Set compassionate timelines for yourself and voice your concerns when too much work comes your way. Ask yourself what is realistically possible. Ask for help when you need it. Keep doing the things that rejuvenated you over the past 2 plus years. Keep making time for the things that, over the pandemic you discovered, or rediscovered were important to you.

Intention is key. It’s a seed that you plant. You get to choose the seed.

What sort of seed do you want to plant?

If you are finding the transition from the stillness of winter to the quickening of spring a bit challenging this year, take stock of what’s going on. Are there fears? Hesitancy? Resistance? Acknowledge them and then transform hesitation or fear or resistance into intention. I’ve created two worksheets to help you through the process. Go ahead and download them. Then, give yourself some quiet time to explore what’s going on for you and create an intention for spring. Your fresh, new green shoots and leaves.

  1. Explore Your Fears

  2. Write your intention

Happy Spring!
